What is RHLD and what does it mean?

RHLD represents "in receiving" but not yet available to ship. Receiving Hold/RHOLD. This status should indicate it being in stock and shippable within 3-5 days on average. Exception: furniture items in assembly may take 1-2 weeks as the RHLD status is updated when the item is sent to assembly.

Receiving hold was implemented to help agents see incoming supply of items.  When receiving has "checked" the inventory in, the item quantity is shown in RHLD.  The next step is the inventory must be put into a "shippable" location in the warehouse. This put-away process can take days/weeks. Once the item is in a shippable location, the item can then be reserved/allocated to an order. Until it is seen as shippable, your order will show as backordered.

Note: if the item has made it to RHLD, the associated purchase order is no longer "seen" in item availability.  If a PO is seen, it is a new/different purchase order with a different status.

Exceptions to 3-5 days put-away timing:

  • Furniture in assembly - is added when it is put on the schedule to be assembled

{Assembled units may be  partially put into shippable locations as they are physically built.}

  • Incoming containers, with large quantities - can be added when known the item is in route or at port.

  • General backlog/volume or returned items (typically smaller quantities) can delay the average put-away timing.

When an item is moved to the shippable location in Korber (WA), it takes an overnight/batch process to show available in PS.

If an item is in RHLD status for an extended time period (3-4 weeks), reach out to ordermgmt@kaplanco.com for updates. Quality holds, inspections or other issues may interrupt the processing time frame.

To expedite an item from RHLD into shippable stock, reach out to order management and provide needed by date and the reason for expediting.  They review requirements and will provide receiving with a priority list of items to work more urgently (if possible).  OM provides expedited requests to receiving on Tuesdays and Thursdays before 11AM.
